Asparagus

Asparagus needs no introduction but perhaps you don’t know just how easy it is to grow. Like borderline naturalized easy.

This asparagus is a Missouri selection that had been growing in a grassy field and repeated bushhogged when I found it. At that point it was just thin wispy plants but after caring for it for a couple years it easily produced the biggest plants I’ve seen. 6ft tall over an inch in diameter it would collapse on it’s own weight unless supported by other plants

Regular asparagus performs quite well on it’s own, so I don’t want to give you the impression that this one is ultra improved but I think it’s fair to say it’s well adapted here, as good as any
