An unusual asian vegetable grown for its long slender roots. A hardy biennial similar to parsnips. Flavor is mild and earthy maybe okra-like even. It’s quite good but didn’t blow me away on flavor, but for how easy it is to grow I think it’s definitely worthwhile
It’s also a striking ornamental if allowed to bloom because it’ll grow up to 5 ft tall with these large round leaves
