Description
1pkt ~ 15 bulbils
Update June 2026: Bulbs are available upon request, this listing is currently for aerial bulbils
This garlic originated from Calloway co Kentucky where it has been grown for generations of I believe Scottish immigrants. It’s an extremely rugged plant able to withstand complete and utter neglect for decades. It’s survivability is similar to the native weedy garlic. Athough it isn’t weedy itself, it can survive repeated mowing and grow in tall grass.
The bulbs, while not the largest are respectably productive and the flavor is comparable to any culinary garlic
Very healthy, disease resistant, tolerant of acid and basic soils. Truly exceptional
A hardnecked type
Pictured is bulb size under garden conditions and the smaller yields you get in its naturalized state
Seed germinates, some garlic makes no seed/sterile seed
I truly can’t recommend enough, if you’re in our bioregion and aren’t a paste tomato fan this is the one plant I’d buy from us.
